Far from Schitt.
What started as a quirky fish-out-of-water sitcom evolved into one of the most heartfelt, self-aware comedies of the 21st century. Schitt's Creek's greatest triumph was it's decision to normalize LGBTQ+ relationships without turning them into a spectacle. Queerness wasn't a dramatic plot point or a struggle to overcome - it simply was. Love, in all its forms, was treated with the same warmth, speciality, and sincerity as any other great romance on TV, proving that true representation doesn't need to shout to feel heard. Of course, it was more than just its message; the cast embodied their transformative roles flawlessly, the humor only got better as the show found its rhythm, and the writing was simply the Bébé's knees. Perhaps the debut season took a little while to find its footing, but it laid the perfect foundation for such incredible character growth, ensuring that every loving moment was totally earned.
Simply put: Schitt's Creek was never about where people start, but where they were going, and those they were lucky enough to have beside them.
