You ever tried explaining It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to someone who's never seen it? "Oh, it's about five truly reprehensible people who run a dive bar and dismantle each other's lives in increasingly deranged ways." Yet, nearly two decades later, it remains one of the most enduring, audacious comedies to exist on television. The Gang's complete and utter refusal to evolve, learn, or improve should've gotten old, but it's actually the very thing keeping the show alive! There have been growing pains, of course, with Seasons 13-15 losing sight of its staple: a severe lack of human decency. But even then, the show has found its footing, delivering standout moments like 13x10 and 15x10. If anything, the writers' decision to lean into the occasional dramatic, especially at such a late stage, has proven to be a surprising step forward. Sure, it mostly veers toward the outrageous, but that's the charm. It's Always Sunny has always thrived on being untamed - whether that's by pushing our boundaries, or (dare I say), making us care for these... people?
